My first Trip to Puerto Viejo

My first Trip here took me about 9/10 hours on the old road to limon, limon to here was all gravell, and Very Bad as we were going along the beach Breack between there and limon, Garth Seagraves and I ( he was who told me about puerto viejo

10" solid, couldn’t believe it
Felt a little Scared, or Intemadated as they say.

This was 1983, Jan 2, We pulled into a little Hotel, we had no other choice, there was no where else to stay.

In the morning we surfed, It was sick 6.8 and 10 foot Barrels.
After the pryior years that we spent on the North shore Cali, mex, and Bali ; I was hooked to Puerto Viejo!!!!

I return and returned to Hotel Puerto Viejo, until I was offed to buy it in 1987, may 15. I finalized the buy on a full Moon Swell. That was pumping.
That day I surfed alone, Waves were perfect!!!
8-10 foot swell.

Then I started camuting from California to Costa Rica every year, working in the USA gattering money to rebuild and returned to the surf and the Hotel.
I've been rebuilding ever since…
